The demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in India. In such a situation, the sale of electric scooters is also increasing every month along with electric cars and other vehicles. Last month, in February 2022, a total of 54,557 two-wheeler electric vehicles were sold in India in which 32,416 high-speed electric scooters were sold. This figure of sales is 18 percent more than the figure of January 2022.

At the same time, there has been a shocking increase of 444 percent in comparison to the year-on-year sales figure. Looking at these figures, it seems that people in India are now adopting electric scooters as an alternative to petrol-powered two-wheelers. New companies are entering the field of electric vehicles in the country.

    Okinawa

In February 2022, the sales of this company have increased five times and have sold 5,923 units. Whereas in February 2021 last year, the company sold only 1,067 units of electric scooters.

Currently, the company is preparing to launch its new electric scooter Okhi 90. It will give a direct competition to Ola S1 Pro. Okinawa sold a total of 29,945 units of electric scooters last year. Now the company is expecting double the sales with the launch of its new models.

    Ampere Vehicles

Ampere Vehicles manufactures EVs like Rio, Rio Elite, Magnus EX, Magnus Pro and Zeel. This company has emerged as the third-largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer in the country. The company has sold 4303 electric scooters in February 2022, while last year in the same month i.e. February 2021, the company sold only 806 electric scooters.

Ather Energy had a different name in EV startup companies. This EV startup company based in Bangalore has registered a decline in the sales of electric scooters last month. The company has sold 2,229 scooters in February of 2022.
