ON THE eve of National Farmers’ Day Institute of Cost Accountants- Nagpur Chapter in association with the Agriculture Task Force of the Institute, conducted a webinar on -“Exploring ways and means for Strategic Agri Revenue and Cost Management” The Institute of Cost Accountants of India has constituted a National Agri Task Force, with a view to support the Government’s initiative of ‘Doubling the Farmers’ Income’. The professional contribution of the Cost accountants for the prosperity of the manufacturing sector as well as the service sector is well established. Now they are jumping into the agriculture sector and they can contribute their might for the effective management and efficiency of FPOs, Contract farming, yield management for the specified crops, etc. The programme was started with the institute theme song and welcome address by the Chairman of Nagpur Chapter, CMA Anil B Verma.
The event was inaugurated by CMA Biswarup Basu, President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and the concept was introduced by CMA P Raju Iyer Vice President of the Institute. L L Raval – CGM, NABARD and Samay Bansod, Director, Manas Agro Industries Limited, delivered the keynote address. Bansod highlighted the demand supply gap of ethanol in the country and explained how farmers can help in saving the foreign exchange by producing crops, which can be converted into ethanol.
Samay Bansod said ethanol produced by the farmers will not only generate additional income but it will also save the country’s foreign exchange spent on buying crude oil. Bansod further elaborated on drip irrigation and highlighted the importance of using organic fertilizers.
