The second phase of the budget session of Parliament started today, but in the meantime, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has demanded that the second part of the budget session of Parliament be postponed in view of the assembly elections in West Bengal.
Earlier, TMC MP Derek O’Brien had written a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman giving an example of the adjournment of Parliament for these reasons, while a similar letter has been written by fellow TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Sudip Bandyopadhyay, floor leader of TMC parliamentary party in Lok Sabha, and Derek O. Bryan, leader of TMC parliamentary party in Rajya Sabha, has written to Speaker of Lok Sabha and Chairman of Rajya Sabha for adjournment of Parliament session due to assembly elections in 5 states.
“On the whole house and on my own behalf, I commend Mallikarjun Kharge Ji for assuming the post of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. He is one of the long-term leaders of the country who has Has vast legislative and administrative experience,” Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu said.
