Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa said that it is time to bury the past and move forward.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, Bajwa said that a stable relationship between India and Pakistan is important to enhance. The capacity of South and Central Asia by ensuring connectivity between East and West Asia.
He further said that the onus of meaningful dialogue lies in India and unresolved issues in South Asia. South Asia is pulling the entire region back to “poverty and underdevelopment”.
Despite being weak on top of this. We spend a lot of our money on defence, which naturally comes at the cost of human development.
On Bajwa’s remarks on India-Pakistan relations, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India would have to take the first step to improve bilateral relations by addressing the Kashmir issue.
He also said that peace with Pakistan would benefit India economically, as it would enable New Delhi to have direct access to the resource-rich Central Asia region through the Pakistani territory.
Earlier, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla welcomed the recent ceasefire declaration by the two armies, stating that New Delhi aspires for good neighbourly relations with Islamabad.
India also told Pakistan that “talks and terror” could not go together and asked Islamabad to take protestive measures against the terrorist groups responsible for launching the attack on India.
