    “Three-time national award-winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75.

    She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers.

    The family asks for privacy at this time. Om Sai Ram,” the actor’s manager told a leading daily.

    National Award-winning actor Surekha Sikri has died in Mumbai at the age of 75. She wasn’t keeping well for some time and had suffered a paralytic stroke in 2018, which had left her wheelchair-bound. She died of cardiac arrest.

    Sikri had suffered a brain stroke in September last year and was discharge after a few days. The three-time national award winner had worked in theatres, television, and films. Some of her most prominent works include “Tamas”, “Mammo”, “Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro”, “Zubeidaa”, “Badhaai Ho” and daily soap “Balika Vadhu”.

    She was last to seen in Netflix anthology Ghost Stories, in the story directed by Zoya Akhtar, along with Janhvi Kapoor.
