Three terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba – The Resistance Front – have been killed during an encounter in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the details provided by the police, incriminating arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired upon the search party of the forces, who retaliated.
In the ensuing gunfight, three militants were killed.
The police said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the three terrorists killed in Shopian.
The killings come a day after 5 soldiers were martyred in a gunbattle with the terrorists in Poonch on Monday.

The security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Tulran, Imamsahab area of Shopian.
In South Kashmir on Monday evening, after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area search operation is laumnched .
One terrorist has been identified as Mukhtar Shah of Ganderbal.
” He had shifted to Shopian after killing one street hawker Virendra Paswan of Bihar”, Kashmir Vijay Kumar said.
Paswan was shot dead in the Hawal area of the city on October 5 immediately after famous chemist M L Bindroo was killed near his pharmacy.
