The Pune Police on Thursday arrested Kiran Gosavi, a witness in the Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, in connection with a 2018 cheating case.
The Pune Police has confirmed the arrest of Kiran Gosavi — an independent witness of the NCB in the Mumbai drugs bust case — and said he is being questioned in connection with a 2018 cheating case.
His arrest came three days after he said that he offered to surrender in Lucknow on Monday, but the police did not accept his surrender.
Gosavi was seen in a selfie with Bollywood superstar sharukh khan son’s Aryan kha after NCB raids on a cruise ship, which led to the arrest of Aryan and several others earlier this month.
Gosavi, who was absconding after the Pune police issued a lookout circular against him in connection with a cheating case, claimed that his life was under threat in Maharashtra.
He ran a company named KPG Dreamz Solutions which promised jobs abroad to aspirants from various fields.
The company used social media platforms for promotion.
The case was registered after one such aspirant accused Gosavi of duping him of Rs 3.09 lakh on the pretext of a job at a hotel in Malaysia.
Upon his arrival in Malaysia, the aspirant found out that he had been cheated by Kiran Gosavi.
Addressing the media, NCB Deputy Director-General Gyaneshwar Singh confirmed that Kiran Gosavi and one Manish Bhanushali were the agency’s witnesses during and after the raid that led to the arrests of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchantt and six others.
Recently, Prabhakar Sail — another witness in the Mumbai cruise drugs case — said he had proof of the payoff allegations made against KP Gosavi.
Gosavi reportedly claimed on some news channels
The Pune Police filed a charge sheet in May 2019 in the cheating case.
Police earlier arrested Gosavi’s assistant, Sherbano Kureshi, in the cheating case. One Chinmay Deshmukh filed the case against Gosavi accusing him of cheating him of ₹3.09 lakh under the pretext of getting him a job in Malaysia. Kureshi allegedly received the money in her account.
A lookout circular was earlier issued to prevent Gosavi from leaving the country. Gosavi reportedly claimed on some news channels that he would surrender to the police. Earlier on Monday, the Pune Police formed at least two teams to trace Gosavi.
Prabhakar Sail, who claimed to be the personal bodyguard of KP Gosavi, has alleged that he overheard Gosavi and one Sam D’Souza talking about a Rs 25 crore payoff to let off Aryan Khan in the case. “They were discussing that Rs 8 crore would go to NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede,” Sail said at a press conference.
