Karnataka government has imposed weekend curfew from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am the state will also see. night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am for the next two weeks starting Wednesday (January 5).
The decision of weekend and night curfew has been taken based on suggestion by the technical advisory. committee that has
raised concerns over the spike of COVID-19 cases in Karnataka.
Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar expressed concerns over the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state He said In the first and second waves of COVID-19, the infection rate used to double once in 15 days and 8-10 days respectively But now, this is doubling in 1-2 days. We need to be cautious.
During the weekend curfew public transport including BMRCL will operate as per the directions of Chief. Executive of the organisation to cater to the need of people for emergency purposes during weekend curfew.
As per the latest guidelines by the Karnataka government all offices in the state will function five days week .(Monday to Friday) from January 5 to January 19, 2022.
Karnataka government’s new COVID-19 guidelines/ restrictions:
All schools and colleges in Bengaluru Urban district, except for classes 10, 11 and 12, and medical and para medical will remain closed from January 6, 2022
Pubs/ clubs/ restaurants/ eateries/ dining places in hotels are allow to operate with 50 per cent of seating capacity. All will have to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and only fully vaccinate people will be permit in these places
Cinema halls/ multiplexes/ theatres/ rangamandiras/ auditorium and similar places have been permit to operate with 50 per cent of its seating capacity. Only fully vaccinate people will be allow and all must abide to COVID protocol
Not more than 200 people are permit in marriage functions in open spaces. Meanwhile, only 100 people will be allow to attend wedding events organised in closed spaces
Religious places will remain open, but no seva is allow. Only fully vaccinate people will be allow and entry will be restrict to 50 people at any given time
Malls, shopping complexes, all stand alone shops and establishments are allow to operate as per usual schedule during week days
Swimming pools and gyms in the state can operate at 50 per cent capacity but entry will be restrict to those who have taken both doses of COVID-19 vaccine
