    General Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff, marked the 76th Army Day with a declaration that 2024 will be designated as the ‘Year of Technology Absorption’ for the Indian Army. This theme emphasizes the Army’s dedication to leveraging technology as a catalyst for significant change. In New Delhi, General Pande extended his greetings and paid homage to fallen soldiers during his address to the troops.

    On Army Day 2024, General Pande expressed his felicitations and warm wishes to all members of the Indian Army, including civilian employees, veterans, and their families. He solemnly remembered and paid homage to comrades who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation, acknowledging their supreme sacrifice as a perpetual inspiration.

    General Pande’s Call to Army

    Highlighting the crucial role of the Indian Army in ensuring a stable and secure environment for the nation’s progress, General Pande urged the ‘Olive Green’ fraternity to maintain an unwavering commitment to countering security threats. He emphasized the need for robust resolve, growing stronger each day.

    The Chief of Army Staff reiterated the focus on technology by declaring 2024 as the ‘Year of Technology Absorption.’ He acknowledged the evolving character of warfare and outlined the ongoing holistic transformation process initiated the previous year. General Pande reported significant progress and achievements, with capability development anchored in self-reliance (Atmanirbharta). The transition toward a modern, agile, adaptive, and technology-enabled force will persist as part of the Transformation Roadmap.

    General Pande emphasized the sacred commitment of the Army towards veterans, Veer Naris, and their families. He called for continued efforts to enhance welfare initiatives, proactively reach out to them, and address their grievances, making it a priority for commanders at all levels.

    Closing his address, General Pande spoke of the Indian Army’s distinct stature in the national mind space. He expressed confidence in the enduring resolve to uphold the trust placed in them by the nation. He called for a rededication to the service of the nation, embodying the core ethos of ‘Naam’, ‘Namak’, and ‘Nishaan.’ He concluded with a spirited ‘Jai Hind.’
