PM Modi expressed optimism about the potential increase in tourism among India, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius due to the availability of UPI services. He emphasized that Indian tourists may favor destinations where UPI services are accessible. Additionally, he highlighted the adoption of a vision document during President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s visit to India last year, which included enhancing financial connectivity as a significant aspect. PM Modi also mentioned holding detailed discussions with Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth last year and expressed confidence in the mutual benefits that Sri Lanka and Mauritius would derive from this initiative.
