Regarding the border dispute with China, Jaishankar emphasized that the tension over the past four years has not benefited either country. He reiterated India’s commitment to finding a fair and reasonable solution respecting agreements and acknowledging the Line of Actual Control.
Responding to questions about negotiations with China on the border issue, Jaishankar highlighted the necessity for all countries involved in a boundary dispute to believe in the possibility of a solution. He emphasized that the number of seats in Parliament or political majority should not influence the fairness of a boundary solution, focusing on whether it is a good or bad deal.
On the India-China relationship, Jaishankar stressed the common interest in reducing forces along the Line of Actual Control, observing signed agreements, and resolving tensions. He expressed the belief that a fair and respectful resolution, without altering the status quo, would benefit both nations.

Regarding India-Pakistan relations, Jaishankar stated that India has never closed its doors to talks with Pakistan, but the terrorism issue must be at the center of the conversation. He dismissed the idea of direct talks with the Pakistani military, emphasizing that the focus should be on addressing terrorism-related concerns.
In response to a question about India’s impact on Russia’s policy towards China, Jaishankar denied any direct correlation. He stated that if Russia and China have grown closer, it is not influenced by India’s actions. He highlighted India’s fair and objective policy towards Russia.
Finally, Jaishankar discussed the importance of having a central authority, emphasizing that a fractured system can lead to various problems and illegal activities that may impact India.
