    Maharashtra CMO gets notice over party meeting at CM's official residence Varsha

    Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde convened a gathering with Sena leaders to address their concerns amid escalating tensions regarding the seat-sharing dispute between BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde Faction).

    Complaint Against Maharashtra CM for Alleged Code of Conduct Violation

    After Maharashtra Congress leader Sachin Sawant lodged a complaint with the Election Commission office regarding Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s alleged breach of the Model Code of Conduct, the returning officer of the South Mumbai Collectorate issued a show cause notice to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office.

    Senior Maharashtra Congress leader Sawant has lodged a complaint against Shinde regarding a party gathering held at the Chief Minister’s official residence, ‘Varsha,’ on April 6. Sawant has pointed out that holding political meetings at the CM’s official residence violates the Model Code of Conduct, which has been in effect nationwide for two weeks. He emphasized the need to cease such meetings promptly, labeling them as a clear violation of the code of conduct. Despite this, Sawant expressed disappointment that the Election Commission has yet to take action on the matter.

    Shinde Faction’s Dissent Over BJP Dominance and Seat Distribution

    The recent gathering at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Saturday occurred amidst escalating dissent within the Shinde faction regarding the BJP’s perceived political dominance and the alliance’s decision to exclude certain incumbent MPs. Chief Minister Shinde has faced significant criticism from party colleagues within the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and BJP regarding seat distribution disputes. Sena leaders have criticized the BJP, claiming they are adhering to coalition principles by conceding seats, whereas their alliance counterparts are not reciprocating.

    During the meeting, all leaders expressed strong dissatisfaction with the exclusion of incumbent MPs from at least four constituencies. Nonetheless, the Chief Minister reassured that everyone within the party would be accorded due respect.
