According to the police, an armed militant was fatally shot during a confrontation with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The security forces initiated a search operation in Fressipora village, located in the Rajpora area of the southern Kashmir district, based on intelligence indicating the presence of militants in the area.
This came hours after the security forces conducted an anti-terror operation in the Frasipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.
Pulwama: Encounter Erupts as Security Forces Close In
As the security forces closed in on the suspects, they were met with gunfire, leading to the encounter. The operation, initiated based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the region, is still underway, according to police sources.

The area remains under tight security, with searches continuing to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats. Key strategic points, including entry and exit routes, have been sealed off to prevent any potential escape attempts by terrorists.
