Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in several parts of Maharashtra, including Pune and Nashik. Twelve individuals are stranded in Malegaon, Nashik, due to rising water levels in the Girna River. NDRF and fire department teams are on site, working to rescue those trapped.

Nashik has experienced 250 mm of rain in the last 48 hours, prompting the Gangapur dam to release water after reaching 86% capacity. Additionally, a 29-year-old man is missing due to rising levels in the Godavari River. The local administration has removed several shops from the riverbank and issued alerts to residents.
In Pune, areas like Ekta Nagar are submerged, leading to the evacuation of several homes. The Army has been deployed to aid in the rescue efforts in these affected regions.

In Palghar district, heavy rain caused a road accident involving four speeding bikes due to poor visibility. Seven people were injured, four of them critically. The weather department has issued warnings for additional rain in Pune, Nashik, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Satara, and Ratnagiri.
This year’s monsoon has brought widespread devastation across the country. Over 300 people have died due to landslides in Kerala’s Wayanad, while flash floods in Himachal Pradesh have resulted in 13 fatalities and several people are still missing.
Further north, a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir has closed the Srinagar-Leh national highway, isolating the Kashmir Valley from Ladakh. In Uttar Pradesh, six districts remain flood-affected, with five fatalities reported from rain-related incidents.
