    Sources revealed that for the upcoming Independence day, security agencies will implement AI-based security systems around the Red Fort. These systems will include advanced surveillance features and automated crowd estimation capabilities. According to the documents, CCTVs with video analytics will get installed at key locations within their venues. An official stated, AI-equipped cameras will be used to monitor and will measure the number of people entering and exiting the premises.

    Independence Day: AI Security Measures at Red Fort

    The cameras will be equipped to monitor abandoned baggage in public areas and will feature intrusion detection for high-risk zones. They will support setting zone-based alarms according to the priority and sensitivity of each area. The advanced Facial Recognition System (FRS) will be capable of identifying faces in real-time and from recorded footage. Matching them against database and sending alerts to the control room. The system will also detect multiple faces in group images and search for similar faces both from a single camera and across multiple cameras.

    New Security Measures

    A senior government official revealed additional details about the new security enhancements. They stated that while a facial recognition system has been in use for several years. This year will see the introduction of Number Plate Recognition. This system will provide real-time, 24/7 vehicle plate detection through continuous video processing. It will instantly record and snapshot every vehicle, including those in violation. Additionally, Delhi police will deploy over 700 CCTVs and more than 150 cameras equipped with video analytics capabilities.
