    Independence Day guest list focuses on youth, farmers, women, and underprivileged

    The guest list for Independence Day, consisting of over 4,000 special invitees, is primarily focused on farmers, youth, women, and the poor—whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to as the “four pillars of a developed India” during his first visit to Varanasi after securing his third term in June. Invites to the special guests are sent by the departments concerned via the Ministry of Defence. “…150 elected women representatives, along with their families, are included.

    Independence Day Guest List: Breakdown by Categories and Numbers

    The special guests, each accompanied by a family member, have been invited to the Independence Day event at the Red Fort. They are categorized into 11 groups, including 1,000 from Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, 600 from Youth Affairs, and 300 from Women and Child Development. Others are from Panchayati Raj and Rural Development (300 each); Tribal Affairs (350); School Education and Literacy and Border Roads Organisation/ Ministry of Defence (200 each); Health and Family Welfare and Sports (150 each). Also, there are 1,200 special guests from Niti Aayog category.

    Tribal Students, Artisans, Entrepreneurs, and Youth to Attend

    About 150 students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools, 100 tribal artisans and Van Dhan Vikas Yojana members, and 50 tribal entrepreneurs are invited. “All the special guests will arrive in Delhi on August 14 and some of them are scheduled to visit the National War Memorial. They would call on some senior ministers during their stay in Delhi,” the source said. There’s a focus on youth, with 400 NSS volunteers under the Meri Maati Mera Desh scheme, 100 beneficiaries of MyBharat scheme, and students of PM Shri schools being on the list,” a source said.
