In a shocking incident of gang warfare in the capital, a 35-year-old Afghan-Origin gym owner was fatally shot in South Delhi on Thursday night, in full view of the public. A CCTV camera recorded the horrifying moment when a gunman opened fire on a crowded road in the upscale Greater Kailash-1 area.
Rohit Godara, a close aide of Goldy Brar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken responsibility for the murder in a social media post. In the video exclusively accessed by NDTV, gym owner Nadir Shah, an Afghan-origin man who lived in Chittaranjan Park, is seen talking to another man next to a couple of parked cars.

Afghan-Origin Gym Owner Shot Dead in South Delhi Gang War
At 10:40 pm, a man in a chequered shirt approached two individuals and started firing. One man managed to escape, but the attacker continued shooting at Mr. Shah. After firing six to eight rounds, the shooter fled on a motorcycle parked nearby. Bullet fragments and empty cartridges were recovered at the scene. Mr. Shah was rushed to Max Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. “The assailants arrived on a two-wheeler, shot him, and fled. Despite being taken to the hospital by his friends, he was declared dead on arrival,” said DCP Ankit Chauhan.
Dubai Businessman and Police Informer Shot Dead in Alleged Gang Dispute
According to the police, Mr Shah also owned a business in Dubai and has several criminal cases against him. Sources say he was a police informer who knew senior Delhi Police officers.
In a social media post, Rohit Godara said he ordered the killing of Mr Shah after his aide Samir Baba, who is in Tihar Jail, sent him a message that Mr Shah was obstructing their business deals. “If anyone else should dare to do the same, they will meet the same fate,” the post read.
