A massive wildfire has swept through a Los Angeles neighborhood, destroying homes and forcing thousands of people to evacuate. The fire has already scorched almost 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) of land in the Pacific Palisades region and continues to spread quickly.
According to news agency AFP, hurricane-strength winds intensified the situation, causing widespread panic and disorganized evacuations as the fire spread.

The fire spread to an area filled with multimillion-dollar homes in the Santa Monica Mountains, where firefighters used bulldozers to clear abandoned vehicles, including luxury brands such as BMWs, Teslas, and Mercedes, from the roads.
Despite the chaotic evacuations, Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley stated that there were no immediate reports of fatalities or injuries, and more than 30,000 people have been ordered to leave the area.
