    Abhay Singh, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, widely recognized as “IIT Baba” at the Maha Kumbh, has been expelled by the Juna Akhara. Singh drew attention for his controversial statements about his family during the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. With more than 300,000 Instagram followers, he rose to prominence at the Maha Kumbh.

    Maha Kumbha 2025 : How did IIT Baba react ?

    Earlier, it was reported that Abhey Singh had disappeared from the Kumbh Mela. Addressing these claims, IIT Baba responded, “They are spreading false news about me. The operators of the Madi Ashram asked me to leave during the night. Now that I’ve gained popularity, they fear I might reveal something about them, so they’re saying I’ve gone for secret meditation. Their claims are baseless.”

    Who is Abhay Singh ?

    Born into a Jat family in Haryana, Abhay Singh excelled academically, earning a degree in aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay. He went on to complete a master’s degree in design and worked briefly in Canada for an airplane manufacturing company where he reportedly earned Rs 3 lakh per month. During the Covid-19 lockdown in Canada, Singh’s interest in spirituality deepened. He decided to return to India, where he embraced an itinerant lifestyle, exploring spiritual hubs like Ujjain, and Haridwar.
