    Maharashtra blast: Explosion at ordnance factory in Maharashtra's Bhandara

    At least eight people died and seven others sustained injuries in a blast at the ordnance factory in Jawahar Nagar, Bhandara district, Maharashtra, on Friday morning.

    Rescue teams, including firefighters and ambulances, went to the location. The blast caused the factory roof to collapse, and earthmovers cleared the debris.

    Union Minister Nitin Gadkari termed the explosion an unfortunate event, confirming 8 fatalities and 7 injuries.

    Leaders React to Bhandara Blast, Offering Condolences and Accountability

    “This is a tragic incident. An explosion occurred at the ordnance factory in Bhandara, resulting in eight deaths and seven injuries, according to the initial report. I request everyone to observe a minute of silence in their honor before we proceed with the program,” said Gadkari at an event in Nagpur.

    Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his sorrow over the blast, extending condolences to the families of the victims and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

    “Extremely saddened to hear about the blast at the Ordnance Factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra. My heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, and I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. Rescue teams have deployed and are making all efforts to assist those affected,” Rajnath Singh wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

    Meanwhile, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole reacted to the blast at the ordnance factory in Bhandara, stating, “This is a failure of the Modi government.”
