    ZOMATO to ETERNAL

Food-tech giant Zomato announced on Thursday that it is officially rebranding as “Eternal,” a name the company has been using internally for over two years.

Eternal will encompass four core business divisions: Zomato’s food delivery, Blinkit’s quick-commerce, District’s live events, and Hyperpure’s kitchen supplies, the company stated.

Name Change Approved, Awaiting Shareholder Support

Founder Deepinder Goyal, in a letter to shareholders, explained the decision, saying, “We considered renaming the company publicly once something beyond Zomato became a key driver of our future. With Blinkit, we have now reached that point.”

The CEO said that the name change applies solely to the company, not its brand or app. The stock ticker will switch from ZOMATO to ETERNAL, and the corporate website will change from zomato.com to eternal.com.

“Our Board has approved this change today, and I urge our shareholders to support it as well,” said Founder Deepinder Goyal. “Once approved, our corporate website will shift from zomato.com to eternal.com, and our stock ticker will change from ZOMATO to ETERNAL.”

This rebranding signifies a strategic shift for the food and grocery delivery platform, moving past initial investor doubts over Zomato’s mid-2022 Blinkit acquisition to increasing confidence in its quick-commerce-driven growth.

The rise of Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart has transformed shopping habits in India, prompting major retailers like Reliance’s JioMart, Amazon, and Walmart’s Indian unit to expand into quick-commerce.
