    The first sitting of the Budget Session of Parliament will end on Thursday, marked by increased drama following an adjournment motion by the Congress Party and the JPC report on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. As per the agenda released by the Lok Sabha secretariat, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to introduce the Income Tax Bill, 2025 on Thursday.

    After a one-day break on February 12 in observance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will resume their proceedings on Thursday. The break allowed members to mark the occasion, and now the parliamentary sessions will reconvene for further discussions and legislative work.

    Congress MP Manickam Tagore has given notice to introduce a motion for the adjournment of the House’s business in the Lok Sabha to discuss the relaxation of “National Security Protocols” for the Khavda Renewable Energy Project in Gujarat, located along the India-Pakistan border.

    The Congress MP raised concerns and called for a detailed discussion on the process and level of transparency involved in awarding the Khavda Renewable Energy Project to the Adani Group. The MP emphasized the need for clarity on the decision-making process and transparency in awarding such high-profile projects, which could potentially have national security implications, especially given the project’s proximity to the India-Pakistan border.
