Govinda Dismisses Divorce Rumors: “Only Business Talks”

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are reportedly heading for divorce after 37 years of marriage. Amid ongoing speculation, Govinda addressed the rumors in an interview with ETimes.

Without revealing much, Govinda kept his response brief. When asked about reports of a marital rift, the Hero No. 1 actor stated, “There are only business talks going… I am in the process of starting my films.” Meanwhile, Sunita did not respond to ETimes’ queries regarding the rumors.

Govinda Breaks Silence on Divorce Rumors

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, acknowledged that there had been issues between the couple due to certain statements from family members but downplayed the matter. He explained, “There is nothing more to it. Govinda is focused on launching a film, and artists are visiting our office. We are trying to resolve things.”

On Wednesday, several reports suggested that the couple had been facing marital issues for some time and were allegedly living separately.

Speculation about their relationship gained traction after Sunita Ahuja discussed their personal lives in recent interviews. Speaking to Hindi Rush, she laughed when asked about Govinda’s romantic side and shared, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He never takes vacations. I love going out with my husband and enjoying street food like pani-puri, but he spent most of his time working. I don’t recall us ever watching a movie together.”

Amid these rumors, an ETimes source claimed, “Sunita had reportedly sent a separation notice a few months ago, but there has been no further action.”

Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 but announced their marriage only after welcoming their daughter, Tina, in 1988. The couple later had a son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
