Neymar reveals Kylian Mbappe was ‘jealous’ after Lionel Messi’s arrival at PSG

He developed a strong bond with the Brazilian star and was frequently seen spending time with him in Paris. Reflecting on the situation, the 32-year-old revealed that Mbappe might have felt jealous, leading to a minor conflict between them. Neymar recalled calling Mbappe a ‘golden boy,’ but after Messi joined, he noticed a shift in the French star’s behavior. This change created distance between them, affecting their once-strong bond and altering the team dynamics at PSG significantly. Despite their professional success, personal tensions strained their on-field chemistry and overall camaraderie.

Neymar admitted that he had some issues with Mbappe, leading to a small fight, but acknowledged Mbappe crucial role when he arrived at PSG. Speaking on a podcast hosted by World Cup winner Romário, Neymar revealed that he used to call Mbappe a ‘golden boy’ and always supported him, believing he would become one of the best. He recalled playing alongside him, offering guidance, and even inviting him over for dinner at his place.

Neymar further explained that their partnership flourished for several years, but after Messi joined PSG, Mbappe became somewhat jealous. He didn’t want to share Neymar’s attention with anyone, which led to conflicts and noticeable changes in his behavior.

Reports suggest that Neymar is close to leaving Al Hilal as his two-year contract nears its end this summer. He is currently in talks with Chicago Fire over a potential move.
