CCTV footage reveals the Vadodara car crash suspect holding a bottle just minutes before the accident

CCTV footage has emerged showing Rakshit Chaurasia, the 20-year-old law student accused of causing the fatal car crash in Vadodara, drinking from a bottle before entering a building. The footage, which surfaced three days after the tragic accident that killed one woman and left four others critically injured, captures Chaurasia and his friend Pranshu at the residence of another friend just moments before the crash.

The footage shows Rakshit and Pranshu arriving on a scooter and having a conversation before entering the house, reports India Today. Rakshit drinks from a bottle, though the contents remain unclear.

Another clip captures the black sedan involved in the accident crossing the road and parking nearby before Pranshu enters the house. The duo spends around 45 minutes at the location before leaving in the car, with Rakshit switching to the driver’s seat and Pranshu moving to the passenger side.

Rakshit Chaurasia drove the speeding sedan that rammed into multiple two-wheelers in Vadodara on Friday, causing a fatal accident. The crash killed a woman on the spot and injured four others. In a video shot at the accident site, Rakshit appears drunk as he steps out of the car and shouts, “Another round, another round!”

Locals caught Rakshit Chaurasia, a native of Varanasi, and handed him over to the police, along with his friend Pranshu, after a fatal car crash in Vadodara. Rakshit denies drinking, claiming a pothole caused his car to lose control after the airbags deployed. He states he was driving at 50 km/h and had not consumed alcohol, having attended a Holika Dahan celebration earlier. Expressing remorse, Rakshit admits his fault and wishes to meet the victims’ families, accepting whatever decision is made.
