Samant firmly stated that the filmmakers must review the film with experts and knowledgeable individuals before its release. He warned them to remove any content that could harm the honor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji. Referring to the ongoing controversy, he mentioned protests against a dance sequence featuring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, who portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai, respectively. The minister assured that the government would only decide on the film’s release after a thorough review and would not allow its screening if any disrespectful elements remained.

The film’s trailer, released earlier this week, shows Kaushal and Mandanna dancing with the “lezim,” a traditional musical instrument associated with Maharashtra’s cultural heritage. Vicky Kaushal’s movie depicts Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje dancing, and Samant believes the director should cut this part. He said the filmmakers should show the movie to historians and scholars, and if they raise objections, the government will not allow its release. While acknowledging the filmmakers’ effort to bring the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj to a wider audience, Samant emphasized that the film must maintain historical accuracy.
