    Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam, who has had a long professional relationship with composer-singer AR Rahman, recently shared his thoughts on what makes the music legend unique in public. He praised Rahman for being a true professional, highlighting that Rahman always keeps personal relationships separate from his work. Sonu also reminisced about the time when Rahman gave him the freedom to explore his creativity while recording his first song for the film Daud, during an interview with O2 India.

“He doesn’t have relationships. He is not the kind of person who has relationships. He doesn’t open up to anyone. At least, I have never seen that. Perhaps, he opens up in front of his older friends, who have known him as Dileep.

“But I haven’t seen him opening up or having any relationship with anybody. He is not a friendly person. He is just into his work,” Sonu Nigam said about the maestro.

Sonu Nigam also said that AR Rahman doesn’t speak ill about anyone and he’s focused about his work and prayers. “He does his work and his prayer. He doesn’t behave badly with anyone. He will not hurt anybody’s heart. He won’t speak ill about anyone.

“He is detached to all of this. He must be attached to his family but I haven’t seen him being very friendly with others,” he said and added, “He doesn’t let anyone come close to him. That’s how it should be,” added Sonu..

He doesn’t know how to gossip,” said Sonu Nigam about AR Rahman

During a tour in the US, Sonu Nigam recalled how they exchanged pleasantries with each other. “He doesn’t know how to gossip, and that is not his drawback. This is how he is. He doesn’t want to know anything about me or anybody else and he doesn’t want anybody else to know about him also. He is a unique personality,” he added.

AR Rehman’s private life came under scrutiny when he announced his divorce from wife Saira Banu in November after staying together for three decades. During that phase, AR Rahman’s brother-in-law Rahman’s old interview re-surfced online where he also claimed, the music legend doesn’t want to talk much and he’s not into any kind of “gossips.”
