G-20 Delegates visit to Mamallapuram Tamil Nadu

We are preparing archaeological tourism, and all delegates will see slides of India’s tourist destinations, according to Union Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh in a press conference on Friday.

India’s potential for rural tourism and archaeological tourism will showcased to the globe at the inaugural G20 Tourism Working Group conference, which will take place in Rann of Kutch next week. Participants in the three-day meeting, which begins on February 7. In addition to delegates from member countries and guest countries, also feature representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO) and World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) (ILO).

UNESCO World Heritage Site :

Delegates will taken on a trip to Dholavira, the southern hub of the Harappan Civilization, in line with this. Dholavira was recognise as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2021. It have inhabited between 3500 BC (pre-Harappan) to 1800 BC (late-Harappan period). Of the eight important Harappan sites—Harappa, Mohenjo-daro, Ganeriwala, Rakhigarhi, Kalibangan, Rupnagar, and Lothal—it is the fifth biggest.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has improved the signs and amenities at the historic site. And the route from the Dhordo Tent City (where the convention will be held) to Dholavira has also fixed. In addition to a guided tour, delegates will get an audio-visual presentation regarding the significance of the place. A panel discussion on the topic of “Discovering Shared Cultural Heritage” will also held. In which representatives from Spain, Mexico, and Indonesia will take part.

Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy will presenting the keynote on the first day, which is focuse on “Rural Tourism for Community Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation”. There will be a panel debate on how tourist policy may help rural development, and India will feature the most creative and effective rural tourism projects from different states.

The next tourism track meeting will held in April in Siliguri/Darjeeling. The third meeting will held in May “in one of the north Indian hill states”. The final ministerial meeting will held in Goa on June 19-22, officials say.

“The idea is to cover and showcase the geographical expanse of the country. From Gujarat in the West to Siliguri in the North-East. Going up to the northernmost regions of India”.
