Two terrorists who tried to breach an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri were gunned down by Indian Army on Thursday. Three army personnel also lost their lives in the operation. An encounter broke out after terrorists attempted a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Five jawans were also injured in the exchange of fire. The operation has now ended, the Indian Army confirmed.
“One Officer is also among the injured Army personnel in the terrorist attack and has been rushed for medical treatment. 16 Corps Commander Lt Gen Manjinder Singh is constantly monitoring the situation on the ground. The area is being sanitised,” Indian Army officials said.
Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone was quoted by ANI as saying, “Someone tried to cross the fence of the Army camp at Pargal in Darhal area of Rajouri. Exchange of fire took place. Additional parties despatched for the location, 6 km from Darhal PS. Two terrorists killed.”
