A couple in Bengaluru was shocked to find a live cobra in their Amazon delivery instead of the Xbox controller they had ordered. The alarming incident, recorded on video, depicts the venomous snake ensnared in packaging tape, unable to break free. The video, which quickly gained widespread attention, begins with the Amazon package placed inside a red bucket. The cobra, entangled in black duct tape bearing the Amazon Prime logo, is seen struggling to escape.

Aaraynsh, a user on X (formerly Twitter), shared the video, stating, “A family ordered an Xbox controller on Amazon and ended up getting a live cobra in Sarjapur Road. Luckily, the venomous snake was stuck to the packaging tape. India is not for beginners.”

Delivery Mishap by Amazon

Online shopping mishaps are not uncommon, but this incident took an unexpected and dangerous turn. The woman, living on Sarjapur Road, received a live cobra instead of her Xbox controller. Fortunately, the snake was immobilized by the packaging tape, preventing any immediate danger. Despite the initial shock, the woman documented the event and posted it on social media. The video shows the partially opened Amazon package in a bucket with the cobra struggling against the tape.

Recounting the incident, the couple, who are software professionals, told India Today that they ordered an Xbox controller from Amazon two days ago and received a live snake in the package. The delivery partner handed the package directly to us and we recorded the entire incident, with eyewitnesses present, they said.

Thankfully, the snake was stuck to the packaging tape and did not harm anyone, the couple said. The cobra, identified as a Spectacled Cobra—a highly venomous species native to Karnataka—was safely captured and released away from public areas, the report said.
