In New York today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a high-level roundtable with leading American technology CEOs. Focusing on innovation, collaboration, and the expanding tech sector in India. The event, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, was a key part of PM Modi’s three-day visit to the United States, with New York being the second stop on his itinerary.
The roundtable, organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering. Included top executives from companies specializing in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology. Notable attendees included Sundar Pichai of Google, Jensen Huang of Nvidia, and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe.

PM Modi’s Roundtable with Tech CEOs Boosts AI, Startup Investments
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi described the meeting as “fruitful,” mentioning that they discussed various aspects of technology and innovation while also highlighting India’s advancements in the field. He expressed his pleasure at the strong optimism shown towards India’s future.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that the roundtable focused on advanced sectors. Including Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductors.
According to the MEA, the CEOs engaged in an in-depth discussion with Prime Minister Modi about the rapidly evolving global technology landscape and the role these advanced technologies play in enhancing the well-being of people worldwide, including in India. They explored how innovations driven by technology have the potential to transform the global economy and contribute to human development.

PM Modi Highlights ‘AI for All’ Initiative and Investment Opportunities in India’s Startup Ecosystem
On the topic of Artificial Intelligence, Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s policy of promoting ‘AI for All,’ emphasizing its ethical and responsible application.
He assured the CEOs of India’s strong commitment to protecting intellectual property and creating a supportive environment for technology-driven innovation. PM Modi encouraged business leaders to seize India’s growth potential, highlighting its prospects of becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
The meeting also explored opportunities to invest in India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, where innovations in technology are accelerating. Startups are viewed as key gateways for American companies to enter the Indian market. Driving the creation of new technologies and solutions.
MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, who chaired the session, thanked PM Modi and the participating CEOs for their contributions. He reaffirmed MIT’s dedication to leveraging technology for global benefit and strengthening U.S.-India collaboration in key tech sectors.
