Expect about 100 million cases of Covid-19 and 1 million fatalities in China: Doctor

Due to the current increase in infection, doctors anticipate that China will have 100 million COVID cases and one million fatalities. On Saturday, Dr. Neeraj Kumar Gupta, the head of the department of pulmonary medicine at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, stated, “Based on mathematical calculations, we expect close to 100 million COVID cases in China, five million admissions, and one million deaths, which is a large figure.

Gupta claimed that although India is now well-versed in combating the virus, China is currently at the same stage as India was earlier.

“We faced the first wave, the second wave of a much more serious delta variation, and the third wave of the Omicron variant,” said Gupta. “It was not that serious, but it was incredibly contagious.

In just 20 days after the zero-covid policy was relaxed in the first week of the month, about 250 million people in China may have been impacted by Covid-19, according to Radio Free Asia, citing secret official documents making the rounds on social media.

According to the leaked paper, which was presented during a 20-minute meeting of China’s National Health Commission, 248 million people, or 17.65% of the country’s population, contracted Covid-19 between December 1 and December 20. According to Radio Free Asia, the number of cases of covid reported by government officials on December 20 was lower than the actual number, which was closer to 37 million.
