Men impersonating electricians steal Rs 5 lakh from a 45-year-old woman's home

On Monday evening, two men dressed as electricians stole cash and jewellery from the home of a physiotherapist in Rohini. The physiotherapist’s wife and his 11-year-old daughter were at home when the incident occurred, according to police.

Ghazala Shaheen (45) told the cops that around 6.10 pm, some unknown persons impersonating electricians came to her house. As some electric work was undergoing at her residence, she thought the men would have come to carry out the same work. The two accused then went to the third floor and asked for water. Her daughter, aged 11, went downstairs to fetch the water, but since it was the time for her evening prayers, she continued with that. The minor girl said that she saw the two men leaving the house after some time. Soon after they left, her mother came downstairs and her hands were tied.

The accused men allegedly tied her hands and threatened to kill her. They then ransacked the house before fleeing.

“They took away Rs 5 lakh (approx) and four rings. The mobile crime team was called at the spot, which inspected the scene and collected the evidence. A case has been opened, “Rohini DCP Guriqbal Sidhu said.
