Bengaluru Woman Wakes Up to Horrifying Scene, Discovers Friend Dead Beside Her

In Francis Ford Coppola’s film ‘The Godfather II’, Senator Patrick Geary wakes up in a panic to find a woman’s lifeless, bloody body beside him. Now picture a real-life situation where a woman goes to bed with a close friend and wakes up in the morning, only to discover her friend lying dead next to her.

While the fictional Senator Geary was left clueless as to how he landed up next to a dead woman in bed, for the real-life Aishwarya, the shock and disbelief were several times more as never even in her wildest dreams could she have imagined that the very friend whom she had tried to console over her marital discord the night before would end up in a pool of blood the next morning – with her throat slit.

When Aishwarya woke up on Wednesday morning, she sensed an unnerving dampness in the bed. As she opened her eyes, she was horrified to find the mattress soaked in blood, with her friend and host, 28-year-old choreographer B Navyashree, lying dead beside her. The grim discovery took place at Navyashree’s home in Vishweshwaraiah Layout, Kengeri. “I never imagined my friend would be lying dead next to me,” Aishwarya, who works at a real estate firm in RR Nagar, reportedly told the police.

Husband Detained as Prime Suspect in Wife’s Murder

Police have detained Navyashree’s husband A Kiran, 31, a cab driver, as the prime suspect. Police said it was Kiran who had slit his wife’s throat after she and her friend retired for the night.

Originally from Bhadravati in Shivamogga district, Navyashree and Aishwarya had been childhood friends. Navyashree married Kiran despite family opposition, but their relationship had deteriorated over the past year due to Kiran’s insecurity about her social status as a choreographer. He frequently checked her phone, suspecting her fidelity, which led to regular conflicts.

On Tuesday, Navyashree confided in Aishwarya about her marital issues, and the two met a friend who advised Navyashree to seek police help. Aishwarya stayed with Navyashree that night. After an argument between Kiran and Navyashree during dinner, Aishwarya intervened. Later, Aishwarya and Navyashree went to sleep in one room, while Kiran slept in another. The next morning, Aishwarya woke up to find Navyashree dead beside her. Kiran fled the scene but was later arrested.
