    The Greater Chennai police (GCP) apprehended three individuals for purportedly pilfering gold, silver, diamond jewelry, and cash from a residence in Injambakkam on East Coast Road. The suspects, identified as N Prakash Khadka (30), N Manoj Masi (41), and T Janak Prasad Jaishi (28), all originating from Nepal, were taken into custody.

    Servant’s Alert and Chennai Police Investigation:

    According to a statement issued by the police on Monday, one Amith Kumar Agarwal complained to the Neelankarai police station about the theft at his sister’s house. He said his sister Amritha and her husband Brajesh Kumar live in Germany and rarely come to their house at Olive Beach in Injambakkam. Moreover,

    He said a servant working at Amritha’s house alerted him about the theft on January 30. The police formed five special teams to probe the case. The police, based on analysis of CCTV footage and multi-pronged inquiries, confirmed Khadka was the mastermind behind the theft. They said he had been staying in Virugambakkam and working as a part-time driver for the past two months in Amritha’s house.

    “Upon confirming that the house owners had gone abroad, Khadka passed on the information to his associates and jointly carried out the theft. They planned to go to Delhi and to Nepal from there along with the stolen properties,” the police added.

    Previous Criminal Records Unveiled:

    The police launched a hunt for the accused in several cities, including Mumbai , Delhi, Lucknow , Pune and Bengaluru, and arrested the three. The police said they recovered over 90 per cent of the stolen properties and launched a hunt to nab the other accused. “Inquiry revealed that more than 10 cases are pending against Manoj Masi and Janak Prasad Jaishi in Bengaluru and Thane,” the police said.
