Delhi Police has detained a Class 12 student for allegedly sending multiple bomb threat emails to schools across the capital, ANI reported.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) Ankit Chauhan stated that the student admitted to sending the most recent 23 threat emails to various schools in Delhi and confessed to having sent similar emails in the past during interrogation.
NDTV, citing officials, reported that the minor boy did not want to take school examinations and used this method to trigger panic and get the tests cancelled.
Around 10 educational institutes received bomb threats on Thursday, the latest in a series of such incidents in Delhi, news agency PTI reported.
Officials said police will address a press conference at its headquarters later in the day and share further details, it added.

Students Behind Bomb Threats to Delhi Schools: Police
Delhi Police has revealed that students were responsible for several bomb threat emails sent to schools in the national capital, according to PTI.
One such case involved Venkateshwar Global School, which received a threatening email shortly after a mysterious explosion occurred at the Rohini Prashant Vihar PVR Multiplex on November 28. The email, sent by two siblings enrolled in the school, aimed to delay exams.
During counselling, the students admitted they were inspired by previous incidents of similar threats targeting schools. Following a warning to their parents, they were released. A police investigation confirmed the threat was a hoax after thoroughly checking the school.
Two other schools in Rohini and Paschim Vihar also received bomb threats from their own students, who similarly wanted schools to be closed. In these cases, the students were let off after counselling, and their parents were warned.
These incidents are part of a larger pattern, with more than 100 Delhi schools reporting bomb threats over 11 days last month, causing widespread disruption.
