    India extradited Tahawwur Rana, a key co-conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, on Thursday after years of legal proceedings in the United States. Authorities accuse him of aiding the terrorists by providing support and facilitating their operations through his ties with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Indian authorities will now begin the process of interrogating him and pursuing justice for his alleged role in the deadly attacks.

    US Marshals Hand Over Tahawwur Rana to Indian Officials

    Indian authorities brought back Mumbai terror attacks co-conspirator Tahawwur Rana on Thursday. Hours after his extradition, the US Marshals released the first photos showing them handing him over to Indian officials.

    The US Department of Justice’s Office of Public Affairs released photos showing a rear view of Tahawwur Rana, chained and surrounded by US Marshals, as they handed him over to Indian officials.

    NIA custody

    Tahawwur Rana, a key co-conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, is currently in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a period of 18 days following his extradition to India. During this time, the NIA plans to conduct a thorough and detailed interrogation to uncover the full extent of the planning, coordination, and international links behind the attacks.

    The agency aims to gather critical information that could shed light on Rana’s role, his connections with terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, and any other individuals or networks involved in orchestrating the deadly assault that claimed 166 lives and left over 238 people injured. This interrogation is seen as a significant step in India’s ongoing efforts to bring all those responsible for the attacks to justice.
