Mihir Shah, the prime suspect apprehended in Mumbai’s Worli hit-and-run case, along with two companions, allegedly consumed a combined total of 12 large whiskey pegs — roughly four pegs each — as indicated by the bar bill, according to excise officials. They noted that this level of alcohol intake could lead to intoxication lasting up to eight hours. The report mentioned that Mihir Shah and his friends departed from the bar at 1:30 am on Sunday, and the accident occurred around 5 am, just four hours after they left the establishment.
On Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted the demolition of purported unauthorized construction and modifications at the Juhu-based bar frequented by Mihir Shah. The BMC targeted Vice-Global Tapas Bar in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai, removing 3,500 square feet of illegal construction during the operation.
The state excise administration has suspended the license of the Juhu bar where Mihir was served alcohol, despite being under 25 years old. Additionally, the excise department uncovered other purported irregularities at the bar, identified as Don Giovanni Restaurant under Jobel Hospitalities Pvt Ltd.
Mihir Shah allegedly presented an identity card indicating he was 27 years old at the pub. Official records, however, state Mihir Shah is 23 years old, below the minimum legal drinking age of 25. Citing unnamed sources, NDTV also reported that the pub’s management claimed Mihir Shah showed them the identity card with the misrepresented age before granting him entry. The report added that three of his friends accompanying him to the pub are over 30 years old.
