    Pune: Police book 17-year-old boy after he attempts to run over woman following dispute

    On Monday, an official reported that Pune Police have detained a 17-year-old boy for allegedly attempting to run over a woman with his car after a heated argument in Maharashtra’s Pune district. The woman managed to escape unharmed. The incident took place in Vadgaon Ghenand village near Alandi town in Pune district.

    According to ANI report, the Alandi police have registered a case against the Pune teenager in connection with this incident after a video went viral on social media on Sunday.

    Following an incident on Saturday, Najuka Ranjit Thorat filed a complaint which garnered attention after a video of the event went viral on social media, as reported by ANI.

    17-year-old Teenager Detained in Pune for Attempted Car Assault Following Heated Argument

    Alandi police officials stated that the complaint alleges the Pune teenager, driven by anger from a previous dispute, deliberately used his car to try and harm her. The incident occurred near the Vadgaon Ghenand market area where Thorat was shopping for groceries.

    Despite the frightening situation, Thorat managed to avoid being hit by the car. She later reported the incident to the Alandi police, leading to an investigation.

    The Pune Police identified the juvenile and filed an FIR under IPC sections 307 and 504, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. The Juvenile Justice Board has sent the teenager to an observation home.

    In a related incident earlier in May, a car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy struck a motorbike in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals.
