An anonymous message sent to Mumbai traffic control today threatened Salman Khan’s life, demanding ₹2 crore in ransom, police sources report. Authorities have filed a case against an unknown individual and have launched an investigation under extortion and death threat charges.
This incident follows the recent arrest of a 20-year-old man from Noida who had previously threatened the actor and MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui. Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddique, was shot dead on October 12. Police have taken the accused, Gufran Khan, to Mumbai on a transit remand.
Earlier, Mumbai Police arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, after he allegedly sent a threat message to the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline. The message demanded ₹5 crore in ransom.
₹2 Crore Ransom Demanded for Salman Khan’s Safety; Police Investigate
Salman Khan has faced multiple death threats, particularly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. These threats relate to his alleged involvement in the blackbuck hunting case during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan. Tensions between the actor and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang escalated in April. Suspected gang members reportedly fired shots outside his Bandra home at that time. In response to these threats, authorities have tightened security around the actor, aiming to ensure his safety amid ongoing risks.
Recently, former MLA and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai. He was known for his close ties with Salman Khan. This tragic event has deeply affected Siddique’s circle, casting a shadow over his connections, including those with the actor.
Shortly after Baba Siddique’s passing, Salman Khan appeared on the popular TV show Bigg Boss 18. Reflecting on the recent events, the actor shared that he hadn’t planned on returning to the show so soon, but work commitments ultimately brought him back. His appearance was noticeably marked by a somber tone, reflecting the emotional weight of the situation.
Salman revealed that the challenges and emotional toll of recent weeks made him reluctant to engage with others or appear in public. However, he felt a responsibility to fulfill his professional obligations. This sense of duty compelled him to continue with his scheduled commitments, despite the personal turmoil he was facing.
