'40 injuries on Anjali's body, skull open, spine fractured,' according to the autopsy of a Sultanpuri horror victim

As the gruesome accident of a 20-year-old woman in Delhi’s Sultanpuri on New Year’s Day sent shockwaves across the country, more shocking details in the case continue to emerge each day during the ongoing police investigation. Anjali Singh died in the early hours of January 1 after her scooter was hit by a car and dragged for 13 kilometres under the vehicle from Sultanpuri in outer Delhi to Kanjhawala.
On Monday, all five accused in the car were sentenced to three days in police custody.

The preliminary post-mortem report of the woman indicated “no injury suggestive of sexual assault”.

The victim’s body was discovered naked on a roadside in the Kanjhawala area of Delhi’s outskirts, sparking speculation that she was sexually assaulted by the accused. On Monday, a post-mortem examination of her body was performed to determine whether she had been raped.
“According to the report, there is no evidence of sexual assault. In due course, the final report will be received “said Special Commissioner of Police Sagar Preet Hooda (Law and Order).

Shock, haemorrhage provisional cause of death

The provisional cause of death was “shock and haemorrhage as a result of antemortem injury to the head, spine, left femur, and both lower limbs,” according to the doctors on the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) board who conducted the autopsy.

“In the normal course of nature, all injuries can cause death. “In the ordinary course of nature, however, injury to the head, spine, long bone, and other injuries can cause death independently and collectively,” the doctors concluded.

The doctors, on the other hand, stated that they would be able to provide a final opinion once the chemical analysis and biological sample reports were received.
