The Supreme Court will hear YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s petition today. He is requesting the consolidation of multiple cases filed against him over his controversial remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh are expected to review the case.

The hearing follows Allahbadia’s plea last week to merge the FIRs against him and seek anticipatory bail to avoid arrest by Guwahati Police. His lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, had requested an urgent listing of the case. However, Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna denied the request.

Allahbadia, also known as the ‘BeerBiceps Guy,’ is facing multiple FIRs in Maharashtra, Assam, and Jaipur. Authorities have summoned him to record statements, but he has yet to respond to the investigations by Maharashtra Cyber Department, Guwahati Police, and Jaipur Police.

Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: Legal Action and Apology

The Mumbai and Guwahati police issued a joint statement on Monday, stating that Ranveer Allahbadia has remained unresponsive to investigation agencies despite multiple attempts to contact him. Along with Maharashtra Cyber and Guwahati Police, Jaipur Police have also filed a case against him. The Maharashtra Cyber Department has now directed him to appear on February 24. Last week, officials visited his Mumbai residence, but the apartment was found locked.

Allahbadia was supposed to appear before the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday morning. Failed to do so, similar to his ignoring a summons from Mumbai Police. As a result, the women’s panel has now rescheduled his summons for March 6.

Allahbadia claimed he has been receiving death threats, causing him to fear for his safety. He shared on social media that people directed threats at him and his family. Some individuals even tried to enter his mother’s clinic disguised as patients. Despite these concerns, he stated he is not fleeing and has complete faith in the Indian police and judicial system.

A major controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia made inappropriate remarks about parents and sex on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. His comments led to widespread backlash and even sparked a debate in Parliament, resulting in multiple complaints against him.

Legal action was taken against other YouTubers from the show, including Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija. After YouTube removed the episode, Raina confirmed he deleted all India’s Got Latent videos from his channel. He admitted the controversy was overwhelming and promised full cooperation with authorities for a fair inquiry.

Allahbadia later issued an apology in a video, admitting that his comments were not only inappropriate but also failed to be humorous. He acknowledged that comedy was not his strength and accepted responsibility for misusing his platform. Without offering any justification, he admitted to a lapse in judgment and stated that his actions were not acceptable.
