    UAE: 2 Indians killed as Houthi rebels attack Abu Dhabi

    Two Indian nationals among three people killed and six injured in multiple explosions caused by an attack by Houthi rebels on Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday.

    The attack reportedly took place near the Abu Dhabi airport.

    The two Indians and one Pakistani national killed and at least six persons injured as three petroleum tanker trucks blew up after catching fire near a major oil storage facility in the Mussafah area Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE, according to the official state news agency WAM. 

    “UAE authorities have informed that the explosion at Mussafah, near ADNOC’s storage tanks, has led to 3 casualties. The Mission @IndembAbuDhabi is in close touch with concerned authorities for further details,” the Indian mission in UAE tweeted.

    The Saudi-led coalition intervened in the Yemeni conflict in 2015 to support the Yemeni internationally recognized government. President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi after the Iran-backed Houthi militia forced him out of the capital Sanaa.

    The fire at both places has been brought under control and air traffic was not affected, officials told the media.
