The Pen police have filed a case after they found the decomposed body of a woman, believed to be around 25 years old, inside a black suitcase abandoned near Durshet village along the Mumbai-Goa highway.

Decomposed Body in Suitcase; Murder Probe Launched
Morning walkers in Durshet village, Pen taluka, noticed a strong odor coming from a roadside pit about 100 meters from the highway and found the suitcase. Upon investigating further, locals traced the smell to an abandoned suitcase. “The unpleasant odor prompted the village sarpanch to notify the police, and they quickly sent a team to investigate,” said an officer.
The police discovered the suitcase at around 10:30 am, and upon opening it, they found the severely decomposed body of a woman. “The level of decomposition indicated that she had been dead for several days,” said Police Inspector Sandeep Bagul. “At first glance, the victim seemed to be around 25 years old, but the post-mortem report will confirm the exact age and cause of death.” The authorities found the deceased woman wearing a nightgown. Authorities have assembled a team to review reports about missing persons from the area. The police have filed a murder case, and they are continuing the investigation.
