The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is commencing the HSC (Class 12) final exams today, February 21, 2024. The Maharashtra HSC exams for 2024 will kick off with the English exam and conclude on March 19th with the Sociology paper.

Ensuring Access and Accountability in Maharashtra Class 12th Board Exams
The Maharashtra State Board Class 12th board exams will take place in two shifts: from 11 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm. Recently, Sharad Gosavi, the chairperson of the board, stated that schools cannot prevent students from taking the HSC examination or hold back their hall tickets because of unpaid fees. He cautioned that schools found denying students the opportunity to sit for the exam will face consequences.

Emphasizing Fairness and Safety in Maharashtra’s Class 12th Board Exams
During the scheduling of Maharashtra’s Class 12th board exams in two shifts, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm, the board’s chairperson, Sharad Gosavi, recently emphasized that schools cannot obstruct students from taking the HSC exams or withhold their hall tickets due to unpaid fees. He warned of consequences for schools found guilty of denying students the chance to appear for the exam. Additionally, he mentioned that the board has put in place measures to ensure the safe administration of the examinations.
This year, the Maharashtra HSC exam will see a total of 15,13,909 students appearing, marking a rise of 56,616 compared to 2023 when 1,457,293 students had taken the exam.
