Nagpur: “Teachers are the harbingers of transformation in the teaching-learning process envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Rooted in the legacy of ancient Bharatiya civilization, NEP 2020 resonates with the aspirations of today’s youth, enabling them to excel in their careers,” stated Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya at the Diwali Milan meet organized by Manthan for Academia, an educational organization dedicated to reforming higher education.
Vijayvargiya cautioned against the conspiracies of certain political parties and pseudo-intellectual elements aiming to dismantle NEP 2020. “The central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will not allow these anti-national forces to derail this transformative policy,” he asserted.
Anecdotes of Leadership: Contrasting the Past and Present
Vijayvargiya compared the integrity of past opposition leaders to the current political landscape. Recalling Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s time as opposition leader, he noted that Vajpayee upheld the nation’s dignity, even on foreign soil, supporting the government in safeguarding India’s honor. In contrast, today’s opposition leaders, he said, tarnish the country’s image on international platforms.
Highlighting the critical role of teachers in nation-building, he remarked, “NEP 2020 recognizes teachers as the backbone of society and their pivotal role in shaping the future.”
Support for NEP 2020 from Prominent Academicians
Nago Ganar, former MLC, shared insights on the BJP-led Mahayuti’s initiatives to enhance the quality of education across all societal segments, from primary to higher education.
Dr. Rajesh Gadewar, former Vice-Chancellor of Solapur University, endorsed the educational reforms under NEP 2020 and reflected on his significant achievements in the education sector during his tenure.
Manthan for Academia’s Contributions
Vishnu Changde, RTMNU Senate Member and convener of the event, presented the educational contributions of Manthan for Academia. He introduced a booklet summarizing key insights on NEP, compiled during a national-level symposium held at Sureshbhat Auditorium Hall in Nagpur.
Program Moderation and Acknowledgment
Dr. Ketan Mohitkar, Member Secretary of ICTRD, moderated the event and extended a vote of thanks, acknowledging the participation of teachers, professors, academicians, and other stakeholders.
The meet highlighted the collective resolve of educators and policymakers to embrace NEP 2020 and reaffirmed the role of teachers as pivotal agents of change in shaping India’s educational and social future.
