The Supreme Court of India has instructed the NMC to provide information regarding the stipends paid to medical interns and residents. Health institutions and medical colleges are required to furnish details about the stipends given to their students to the NMC. Medical colleges must submit the stipend details by April 24, 2024. For undergraduate interns, postgraduate residents, and senior residents or PGs in Super Specialty for the financial year 2023-24.
An official notification from the NMC stated, “The Honorable Supreme Court of India, in WP (Civil) No. 730/2022. Other cases through their orders dated September 16, 2023, and April 1, 2024. It has directed the NMC to provide details of stipends paid to medical interns and residents. All Health Institutions/Medical colleges are hereby directed to submit to the NMC. The details of stipends paid to their UG Interns, Post-Graduate Residents, and Senior Residents or PGs in Super Specialty for the financial year 2023-24 as per Annexure 1 via email by April 23, 2024, positively.”

Medical college concerned and required to be updated on monthly basis
The NMC notification also added that the details from now onwards should be updated on the website by monthly basis. For the financial year 2024-24, the details should be uploaded on the fifth of every month. “Further for financial year 2024-25 onwards these details should be uploaded on the website of the medical college / medical institutions concerned.

It is required to be updated on monthly basis (by 5th of every month thereafter) as per the Annexure 2. At the end of each financial year the complete statement be submitted to NMC on E-mail ID:- stipend24-25@nmc.org.in,” the notification added. Meanwhile,NBEMS has started the application process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate exams (NEET-PG). The online submission of the forms for the exam will conclude on May 6, 2024.
