The schools in Mumbai are set to reopen for physical learning for students of classes 8 to 12 from October 4. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Wednesday.
The announcement comes amid speculations as Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar last week hinted on the reopening of schools in Mumbai after Diwali as the nation continues to fight the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
Mumbai Schools have received a nod to reopen from October 4, 2021. This reopening is the first phase of reopening of Mumbai Schools and would begin with classes 8 to 12.
BMC has issued orders that say that reopening of schools has been allowe in a phased manner, following COVID-19 safety protocols.
Mumbai Schools have been shut since the beginning of the pandemic in March, 2020. In its recent orders on reopening schools. BMC has said that it is important to ensure that schools are prepare from October 1 to 5 for this sort of reopening.

Schools in Maharashtra to reopen from October 4- Attendance optional

Apart from these guidelines, schools must make sure that students, teaching and non-teaching staff wear masks at all times and follow social distancing. Offline classes must resume in a phased manner and as per the infrastructural capacity of the institute to avoid over-crowding.
Maharashtra government has given a nod to reopen schools in the state from October 4, 2021.
Schools would reopen with proper COVID-19 protocols and attendance would be optional for students.
Schools would reopen for students of classes 5-12 in urban areas and for classes 8 to 12 in areas.
