The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has removed the Preamble to the Constitution from several class 3 and 6 textbooks, as reported by The Tribune. Previously, the Preamble was featured in the first few pages of these books. However, it has now been completely removed from all class 3 textbooks.
For class 6, the Preamble has been excluded from the social science textbook but can still be found in the science book ‘Curiosity’ and the Hindi book ‘Malhar’. The revised social science textbook now includes sections on fundamental rights and fundamental duties instead.

This year, NCERT has also consolidated its class 6 environmental studies curriculum into a single textbook, as opposed to the three books published in previous years. Additionally, the new class 6 English textbook, ‘Poorvi’, and the Sanskrit textbook, ‘Deepakam’, do not feature the Preamble.
