Resident doctors in Delhi have intensified their ongoing protest as the government and authorities have not given any positive solution to their problems till now. The doctors on Monday reached Nirman Bhawan and continued their protest demanding the expedition of NEET-PG Counselling as well as court proceedings pending in the Supreme Court.
Nirman Bhawan in Delhi has offices of several Central government ministries, including the Ministry of Health.
A resident doctor “Due to EWS quota revision, NEET-PG of year 2021 counseling delayed, & (new) postgraduates not admitted. This has overburdened junior residents working in various departments; 1/3 workforce is still not here.”
Notably, the resident doctors have been stressing on the fact that doctors are overburdened and exhausted in the hospitals, and recruiting new doctors is the need of the moment.
As the nation is seeing a hike in the numbers of cases of a new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron, doctors are warning us against it while they also pointed out the dire situation in the month of April during the COVID-19 second wave in the nation.
Dr. Aneja, an agitating doctor said, “Omicron cases are increasing, and we do not have ample amount of workforce. This time to fight against it. We all have witnessed what happened in Delhi, India in April.”
